There's something to be said for those who turn really terrible music into something that's actually worth listening to. Good remixing can do quite a bit for songs that may otherwise have little or no life to them. The Twelves, in my opinion, are good remixing at it's finest. Check out the Brazilians re-working New Young Pony Club's "Get Lucky" and Radiohead's "There There."
By no means do either of the above songs qualify as "terrible music" though much of the other music that the band has worked with is, or at least was, prior to The Twelves working with it (see: Kylie Minogue or The Virgins, whose remixed track is below).
I knew that Brazil was home to some alright street art in recent years and has had an OK soccer history, but until I found out about these guys a few months back, I knew nothing about the country's current music scene. Thanks to The Twelves, we now have a better idea as to what's been going on in Rio de Janeiro as of late. I just hope the guys keep doing their thing.
A recent playlist from The Twelves looks something like this:
1. Zeigeist - Humanitarianism (The Twelves Replay)
2. Radiohead - Reckoner (The Twelves Replay)
3. Mirwais - Naive Song
4. Of Montreal - Gronlandic Edit
5. David E. Sugar - To Yourself
6. The Virgins - Rich Girls (The Twelves Replay)
7. Daft Punk - Voyager
8. Jupiter - CHIP
9. Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal (The Twelves Replay)
10. Metronomy - Heartbreaker
11. The Twelves - Works for Me (The Twelves Replay)
12. Lykke Li - Dance Dance Dance (The Twelves Replay)
And sounds something like this.
More Mp3s...
The Twelves - Works For Me
Yelle - Ce Jeu (The Twelves remix)
The Virgins - Rich Girls (The Twelves remix)

are you really that worried about it? this kind of thing should be a non-issue. it's like the whole music piracy issue: what exactly are lars and dre solving by punishing the downloaders of their music? you and i are both getting more people to listen to music, right? is this NOT the point of music blogs?
anyhow, if you're that worried about it, feel free to send instructions on "how to host one's own mp3s" my way. by no means am i a computer geek so i need a little bit of help every now and then with these machines.
