That's Heart: Volume I

George Brett going for it.

Recently I've been collecting quite a few old baseball pictures of some of my favorite players, teams, stadiums, and a variety of other baseball-related stuff from my childhood. Most of these images date from the mid '70's through the early '90's and document what I see as one of the better era's in baseball's history. Though my perception may be a bit biased considering my mere twenty-two years of age, there's no doubt that the integrity of the sport in previous eras was far superior to that of the past decade which has been tarnished by amplified egos, performance-enhancing drugs, and outrageous nine-figure contracts. In the future, I plan to document my affinity for this era of the sport with occasional posts of some of the images I have come across and particularly enjoy. Here's my first:

top to bottom:
Ricky Henderson,
Joe Carter (in the '93 World Series),
and Kirby Puckett (at the Metrodome)
