Some words on animal cruelty

This video documents my biggest gripe with the fashion industry today. Regardless of what's to be said about the "typical PETA commentary" in it, the images throughout the film clearly speak for themselves. Upon learning more about the origins and the production of the clothes and accessories that many of us wear, I hope that more people increasingly start to question their fashion-related consumption habits.

Just a couple of years ago, after being approached by PETA, the NBA stopped using traditional leather basketballs and switched to synthetic leather basketballs in place of them. Rapidly successful campaigns like that of the NBA case give me hope that change can often be a lot more attainable than it seems. That said, speaking out and sharing videos like this with as many peers, clothing designers, and retailers as each of us can, is a crucial and necessary step to ridding the (fashion) world of as much cruelty towards animals as possible.

If you are someone who is already contributing to the resolution, thank you. If you haven't yet, but feel the need to do so, then please help educate those around you to whatever extent you can. We all know right from wrong; defending animals is just a matter of following through with our convictions. When it comes to speaking out for animals, it's imperative to act sooner than later. For those of you that have information on related sources or campaigns, or feelings and experiences that you would like to share, feel free to do so in the comments section. Thanks again.
